In the 1890's, welding just couldn't handle heavy construction like this. So everything was riveted. Bolting would have allowed too muchh opportunity for escape from the jail. Had a day off here in Texas and tooke a ride to scout urbex stuff in Wichita falls... fail. But on the way home passing through Henrietta, Texas I saw a sign for the "1890 Jail Museum and Heritage Center" and decided to stop in. There were two long time residents taking care of the place and I received a special tour. I'll have a blog post about this place soon.
